Oceanfront Croquet at Hammock Dunes Club!
Hammock Dunes Club members are very fortunate to have so many varied and wonderful amenities. There is something for everyone, regardless of age, gender or ability. Hammock Dunes Club is especially unique to offer the sport of croquet, either competitive American or golf croquet.
These are modern versions, just 30 years in existence, and sponsored by the United States Croquet Association in West Palm Beach, Florida. Except for similar equipment, it is a totally different and much more interesting game than the old historic relative.
Hammock Dunes Club has one of the largest croquet associations in Florida, with a very active program, recognized nationally. Some of our members only participate at Hammock Dunes while others participate both here and at other Clubs across the country. Not the least of the many pleasures accompanying participation is the social aspect and the great camaraderie.
If you would like to be introduced to croquet at Hammock Dunes Club and consider membership options that include croquet, please call Kim Laxton, Membership Director at 386-445-0747 or Email: firstname.lastname@example.org

Hammock Dunes Club takes the Inaugural “North Florida Croquet Cup”
On a beautiful sunny February day on the St. Johns River just south of downtown Jacksonville, 16 representatives of the Hammock Dunes Croquet Association met with 16 representatives of the Florida Yacht Club to compete for the new “North Florida Croquet Cup” – the first of what we hope will be many Interclub events among the several new, and not so new, croquet clubs in North Florida. The Florida Yacht Club croquet group is the first of two new groups to establish croquet in the Jacksonville area, with over 80 players active each week on 2 full-sized lawns with a beautiful setting directly on the river, next to their historic clubhouse. Florida Yacht Club was established in 1876!
The full-day event included continental breakfast, followed by a full schedule of six golf croquet games for each of eight doubles teams hand-picked by each organization, and included a leisurely lunch in the clubhouse. The Florida Yacht Club members and staff were exceptionally gracious hosts, and all enjoyed the beautiful day, fun, and competition.
In the end, experience won out – the members of Hammock Dunes Croquet Association prevailed, winning 31 games! Nadine and Elie Sidawi won the “Best Record” award, winning all six of their games, and were the only undefeated team of the day! Two of our teams, the Ralstons and Villiottes lost only one of their six games. Sharon and Bob Ralston ran away with the “Most Net Wickets” award by 8 wickets, with Steve Taylor and Don Radin coming in second place in that category.
The “North Florida Croquet Cup” is proudly displayed in the Croquet Trophy case at the Links clubhouse.
